The Christmas Lighting Season has ended for 2010. Thank you to everyone that helped set things up as well as all of you that came by to enjoy the lights this year. I had a great time talking to a lot of people as we watched the lights and look forward to seeing what 2011 brings!

The Last Night….

Hard to believe that the Christmas Lighting Season is coming to a close. All that work and the 5 weeks are over now. Tonight, New Years Eve, will be the final night for the lights. They will run until just after Midnight. If you can, come on by and check them out and enjoy the Lee Family Lights for one last time….

Happy New Year!!

The Lights Are On!!

It’s Opening Day of the Christmas Lighting Season and as of 5pm tonight, they lights have sprang to life! If you get the chance to drop by and see the lights… be sure to tune to 107.5fm to “hear” the lights. If not, check out the Web Cam page for a look at the lights. While not as good as seeing them in person, especially since you cant hear the music via the web cams, it’s still a good way to enjoy the lights.

WOOOHOOOOO! 🙂

18 hours…

Well, it’s as good as it’s gonna get for now I guess. I still have a few static items to put out, but with the ground so frozen, I still cant stake them in the ground, so they will have to wait. Other than that, I think we’re a go for 5pm tomorrow. The computer is set it, scheduler is running… so we shall see 🙂

44 hours to go…

Author: Ken | Filed under: Misc Tuesday Nov 23,2010

The hours are counting down til the lights come on. There were things I planned to wait til this week to do and most of it is done, however, this past Monday we got hit with a big snow storm and since the ground is covered with snow, ice and is frozen solid in the 20 degree weather, there will be a few little things I wont be able to get done until early next week. None of these last few things are hooked up to the controllers, so that’s a plus. Gonna work on having the computerized show ready to go by tomorrow night so I can run a couple test sequences and set the computer up so it’s ready to go for Thanksgiving Night at 5pm.

Almost there….

1 week to go!!!!

Author: Ken | Filed under: Misc Thursday Nov 18,2010

We have 1 week to go until the lights come on! We have had several problems, from water on the controllers, to water in the plugs and who can forget about the slugs getting in the controllers and being fried and when they go, they take a channel or 2 with them! The other day a plug on one of our green candy canes decided to just meltdown and explode! (see pic below). Then after a nasty windstorm on Monday night, which saw 1 of our reindeer being blown over into our drive way… well, needless to say, the wife didn’t see him and well, he will not be with us this season (a moment of silence for Mr. Reindeer…..). She kilt him, SQUASH… just like grape! (see pic below). Despite all of this, come Sunday we will make our final push to get the rest of what we have out and set up so we can be ready to run full sequence tests on Wednesday night and then set the computer up to start running the show on Thursday night!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, yeah, I almost forgot…. we also have not 1, not 2, but 3 wireless web cameras up and running that will be pointed on the lights from various places. Be sure to check the “Web Cam” page come Thursday for links to those!! We might be adding a 4th, stationary USB camera, as well. We shall see….

Have a great weekend… and we’ll see ya as the lights come on! 🙂

Here are those pix I mentioned above:

A Quick Update…

Author: Ken | Filed under: Lights Saturday Nov 6,2010

As we sit right now we are 96.4% complete this year! All of our 7 controllers are plugged in and working properly. We just have a few smaller things to get done plus putting out the Cross & Angels as well as the Merry Christmas sign (which I think is going to have to have a few lights replaced on it).

Almost there with still over 19 days to go 🙂

Lights are going up!

Author: Ken | Filed under: Lights Thursday Oct 28,2010

This past Monday we got our window frames up. Yesterday we got the roof lights up (1500+ of them), got them plugged in and hooked to the computer so they are ready to go!

Things are coming along nicely with only 28 days to go until Lights Up! We hope to get a bunch more up tomorrow and then as soon as Halloween passes, we’ll start putting out a lot more!

We’re getting there and we can’t wait for Thanksgiving night at 5pm when the lights come on for the 2010 Christmas season!

We’re baaaaaccccckkkkkkk!!!!

The calendar might say it’s not quite mid-October, but the planning has begun for this years show and we will start hanging lights within a couple weeks. Hard to believe it is that time of the year again! So exciting! We have only 48 days until the lights come on and oh so much work to do! Looking forward to a great Christmas Season!

Merry Christmas from The Lee’s…

Author: Ken | Filed under: Events Friday Dec 25,2009

The big day has finally come and is almost gone. Another year, more fun and even more memories. The Lee Family did our usual by spending Christmas Eve with our family and friends in Lacey, then went to Marysville Christmas morning. It was great getting to see everyone, which even included an “old” friend, Jim, and his wife, Lois, who are living here locally now.

Tonight we took the chance to go looking at some amazing Christmas light displays. There were a couple here in Marysville that were just awesome. Yvonne and I had both seen them before but we decided to take her mom and she loved them as well. We then headed to Woodinville to see ZMan’s show, “Woodinville Wonderland”, and what an amazing show it was! I could spend hours walking around looking at his show. He was even featured on KOMO TV’s “Poole’s Parade of Lights”.

We’d like to take a moment and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to say THANK YOU for helping make Lee Family Lights a success in 2009! It was a long, hard road, but it turned out great! Thank you!

Remember the lights will be on through New Years Night… just a few more days!

Merry Christmas!
The Lee’s
